A Roald Dahl Classic
The film adapts Fantastic Mr Fox, first published in 1970 by British author Roald Dahl.

Dig the life fantastic.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox, bored with his current life, plans a heist against the three local farmers. The farmers, tired of sharing their chickens with the sly fox, seek revenge against him and his family.
Why it's in the Vault
Fantastic Mr. Fox is a charming and carefully crafted stop-motion adventure that transforms Roald Dahl's children's story into a miniature world unmistakably shaped by Wes Anderson. Its expressive animal puppets, warm autumn colors and meticulously arranged sets make it a visually distinctive experience, while its eccentric characters and gentle humor give it a playful personality. Discovered later in life, however, its particular rhythm and understated storytelling may feel more pleasant than truly captivating. An enjoyable family film with undeniable craftsmanship, even if it lacks the emotional impact or sense of wonder of the Vault's most treasured discoveries.
