Goosebumps
After moving to a small town, Zach Cooper finds a silver lining when he meets next door neighbor Hannah, the daughter of bestselling Goosebumps series author R.L. Stine. When Zach unintentionally unleashes real monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.

Goosebumps understands that adapting R. L. Stine's universe is less about faithfully reproducing a single book than about recreating the mischievous thrill of opening one. By unleashing Slappy alongside creatures pulled from across the series, the film becomes an affectionate monster parade for anyone who grew up with those unmistakable covers and stories. Younger viewers may simply see an energetic family adventure, but for a generation raised on Goosebumps, half the fun comes from recognizing familiar nightmares hiding in the background. It may not reinvent family fantasy, but it executes its nostalgic premise remarkably well and packs an impressive amount of Goosebumps history into one adventure.

Rather than adapting a single R. L. Stine story, the filmmakers built the movie around the idea that Stine's creatures are physically trapped inside their manuscripts, allowing characters from many different books to appear together.
The living dummy became the principal antagonist and effectively the spokesman for Stine's escaped creations, bringing one of the franchise's most recognizable villains to the centre of the film.
Instead of simply adapting Stine's stories, the film turns a fictionalized version of the author himself into a major character, played by Jack Black.
By the time the film entered production, Sony reported that Scholastic had sold more than 350 million Goosebumps books worldwide in 32 languages since the series began in 1992.
Sony specifically promoted Slappy, the Haunted Mask girl, the gnomes and numerous other creatures as part of the film's enormous crossover of Goosebumps creations.
Aux origines
Rather than adapting one particular novel, the film draws from the wider children's horror series and invents a story in which R. L. Stine's fictional creations can escape their manuscripts and inhabit the same world.
