A Digital Cinema Milestone
Attack of the Clones was one of the first major feature films photographed principally using digital high-definition cameras.

A Jedi shall not know anger. Nor hatred. Nor love.
Following an assassination attempt on Senator Padmé Amidala, Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi investigate a mysterious plot into the heart of the Separatist movement and the beginning of the Clone Wars.
Why it's in the Vault
Attack of the Clones expands the Star Wars prequel trilogy into a sprawling adventure of political intrigue, forbidden romance and approaching galactic war. George Lucas introduces striking new environments, from the rain-soaked cloning facilities of Kamino to the rocky arenas of Geonosis, giving the galaxy a scale and diversity that remain among the film's most appealing qualities. Obi-Wan Kenobi's investigation provides an engaging mystery, while the emergence of the clone army and the growing influence of the Sith bring a darker dimension to the story. The climactic battles deliver memorable science-fiction spectacle, supported by John Williams's sweeping score and an impressive variety of spacecraft, creatures and Jedi. The romance between Anakin and Padmé is less convincing, partly because of awkward dialogue and occasionally stiff performances, while some digital environments now show their age. Nevertheless, its ambitious world-building, memorable action and increasingly ominous atmosphere make it a compelling chapter of the prequel trilogy, laying important foundations for the tragedy to come.
